“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”

Happy Friday! I am back in New York after a wonderful week in Marco Island with my family. We had the most wonderful time; relaxing by the pool, dinners by the water, and celebrating my sister’s birthday.

The house that we stayed at had it’s own pool in the backyard which was so nice to have. Most mornings we woke up whenever and went for a walk around the neighborhood. Then in the afternoon we spent poolside enjoying the sunshine. I loved swimming with my niece and playing games with her. We did go to the beach one day where I spent the majority of the time collecting sea shells. I am much more of a pool gal than I am a beach babe.

At night we either stayed in and grilled or went out to different restaurants. One our favorite restaurants in Marco, Snook Inn, was closed due to unfortunately being damaged during Hurricane Ian. Luckily they are reopening soon, we just missed it by a few weeks. Instead we tried a few new-to-us restaurants like Mango’s Dockside Bistro and The Sunset Grill. We also went to The Speakeasy, another favorite of ours. Our evenings were mostly spent lounging around the house watching tv; for me it meant reading.

One really exciting thing happened to me while in Marco. I was with my mom down by the docks behind our house and there was a Manatee just hanging out right by it. I have never seen a Manatee in real life– besides the zoo obviously. At first I only saw his tail and it took me a second to figure out what it was. Then he stuck his face out of the water. He was so close I could have easily reached out and pet him. I didn’t. I was pretty excited to see the cute mammal.

Now that I am back in New York I have spent most of the week catching up on work, but I also had a few exciting events that I attended. Tuesday evening I went downtown to the Canary Club to celebrate the launch of LAKE Pajamas collection with Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific. I have never been to the Canary Club before, but would definitely go back. The restaurant has two-floors; we were in the basement which is more of an event space. The first floor has a large sage green colored bar and what I assume in the back are tables for dining. I didn’t get to go back there. Anyway, the event was so much fun! They had a jazz band playing, great cocktails, and good company. There were so many people there that I haven’t seen in a long time; getting the OG bloggers of NYC back together! I also met some great people- and I always love chatting with the women of LAKE. Blair’s collection with LAKE is amazing and one you do not want to miss. I was gifted this stripe caftan in blue and this polka-dot pima short set. I am also looking at this primrose stripe short set— so cute! I love the scalloped trim and heart buttons.

Wednesday evening I went with a friend of mine to see Six on Broadway. This is a broadway show that I have been dying to see since it’s debut back in 2017. It’s about the six wives of Henry VIII. The show is unusually short for broadway– only 80 minutes. The six performers, who are incredible, were on stage the entire time. There are no backup dancers or vocalist. They do have an all female rock band which was amazing to see! It has more of a “rock concert” feel to it. Each wife has their own song that they sing and perform, giving us a history lesson of what happened during their marriage to Henry the 8th. They modernized the story and the music. Which was a mixture of hip-hop, dance, and pop. It’s also very hilarious and has you laughing the majority of the time. I loved their costumes, as well as their hair and makeup. I highly, HIGHLY recommend seeing Six. It is a fantastic show– that has won so many Tony Awards. I now can’t stop listening to the soundtrack.

What I am watching: I haven’t started any new shows. I spent most of the week catching up on the shows I missed while in Marco. I have been watching the rest of Daisy Jones and the Six. I will be watching the final episode this weekend. I am really loving the mini-series and thought they have done an excellent job staying pretty true to the book. If you love music from the 70s or are a fan of Fleetwood Mac, then I suggest watching this show. Yes, the book is very loosely based off of Fleetwood Mac and how they all dated each other.

What I bought: The one of the only things I bought this past week was the In Kind Magazine Issue 6 (pre-order). In Kind is a new bi-annual magazine for modern women created by Leah Melby Clinton and Hannah Weil McKinley. They have great interviews of women entrepreneurs. They also talk about motherhood, style, travel, careers, etc. This will be the first issue of theirs that I will have owned. I tried to get Issue 5 but it sold out before I could purchase it. The issues only cost $22. It kind of reminds me of Matchbook Magazine that was so wildly popular 10 years ago- and unfortunately no longer exist. I am excited to receive the issue and devour it. Now manifesting me being in the magazine at some point…

The other item that I bought is the La Roserie candle from L’or de Seraphine. I have been eyeing this candle for months now and finally decided to get it. I found it on sale here!

This weekend I am going to take it easy and relax. I do need to get a new book to read– recommendations please! I will also leisurely walk around the city. If it’s not too windy on Sunday, perhaps go for a run. Other than that I will be enjoying doing nothing.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
