“The timing of your life will never let you down”

Happy Friday! I have to start off by saying how not only heartbroken, but angry I am about the shooting in Nashville. SOMETHING needs to be done. We can not continue to do this to our children, and do this to ourselves. Enough is enough. If you want to help– call your senator. I have already called both New York and Ohio senators, asking them to do something about gun control. You can also follow IG accounts like Everytown and March Fourth who provide information on gun laws, marches to protest, how you can help, donate, myths and facts, and to keep you up to date on everything. I have already messaged March Fourth about potential gatherings here in NYC. One isn’t currently on the schedule but keep a look out for it in the future. There will be one in DC in a few weeks!

This is the last week of Q1 dances for DanceBody. We will learn new ones next week– which I am excited about! As always I will miss a few of the dances– like the Janet Jackson one and the Daddy Yankee one. BUT am excited to see what’s next. Starting off learning new dances can be frustrating; as a dancer I get really frustrated with myself if I do not pick something up right away. This is why I love DanceBody so much because it still challenges me. Can’t wait to show off the new dances!

This past week was mostly about content creation. I have been spending more time on TikTok creating fun videos– seen here. I also had a sponsored post to work on– The Trusted Lab Insta-stories you have hopefully seen. I have been enjoying my collagen powder blends and my night time gummies. The CBD gummies have really been helping me sleep at night. If you want to try them, use code MAGGIET10 for 10% off.

What I am watching: Succession is back!! I loved the first episode of season 4. Usually it takes me a few episodes to get back into the groove of the show, but this one came out swinging. I was loving the banter between Cousin Greg and Tom. The ludicrously capacious bag line will be stuck in my for a lifetime. It was so spot on and captured the wealth divide in one perfect sentence. But besides that I am so curious as to how this will all end to the Roy family.

Next I started watching season 3 of Ted Lasso. I have only watched one episode thus far but am enjoying the new season. Another great show ending this year unfortunately! I thought the first episode was great. Loved seeing all the favorite characters back together. Keeley and Roy better end up together!

What I bought: Last weekend I bought a new book, The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley. I usually am not a fan of mystery novels with the exception of Lucy Foley. The way she writes and the stories she tells are amazing. I get sucked right into it. The Paris Apartment has me turning the page, devouring everything. I will probably finish the book this weekend. I think I have an idea of how this will end, but in Lucy Foley fashion there will be a twist that will prove me wrong.

Elemis gifted me a few skincare products that I have been enjoying using. The first being the pro-collagen marine day cream. I have been using it instead of my normal moisturizer. My face has felt nourished for the past few days. I am using it along the pro-collagen cleansing balm. I am only using the cleansing balm in the morning, and my normal cleanser at night. Also at night I am using the superfood face oil. I put it on after my serum- which has kept my face feeling moisturized at night. My face tends to get really dry at night. Elemis also gifted me the dynamic resurfacing facial pads, which I haven’t used yet but will soon. I keep forgetting to try it.

While I was at CVS the other day I was looking at nail polish. Then on a whim I bought the KISS Ready-to-Wear gel nails. I haven’t had press-on nails since middle school when it was popular to wear them with french tips… very 90s/early 2000’s. Now that press-on nails are back in trend I wanted to play around with it. Something fun to do when I am bored on the weekends– see if I like it. I have weak nails unfortunately. My dream is to have long, strong nails. I try everything; not biting them, manicures, eating healthy, collagen peptide powders, strengthening nail polish. Yet they still break. Press-on nails will give me the joy of having longer nails, even if it is only for a week.

Last but not least, I finally bought a floral border stencil for my mirror. I bought this pretty flower vine stencil. I think I am going to paint it one cohesive color, instead of painting the buds a different color. I am thinking either painting it a sage color or a sky blue. I will have to go back to Home Depot to browse their paints again. My stencil is expected to arrive sometime between April 6th-20th….. so it may be a while before I can finally start my project.
