“I must change my life so that I can live it, not wait for it”

-Susan Sontag

Happy Friday! I am finally feeling better after being under the weather this past week. Luckily in time to enjoy the sunshine and warmth we have been having here in New York.

I started to feel fatigued last weekend while I was shopping in Soho, swooning over the pretty bags at Cult Gaia. I figured I just needed some rest. Easter morning I woke up with a little sore throat, but to be honest my apartment is always dry and my throat can get sore a lot. I didn’t think much of it. I went to church and everything was fine. Hindsight now I probably should have stayed home, but again I felt fine. However, the rest of Sunday and the days following I was fully under the weather; sneezing, coughing, congested, all the fun stuff. I spent the rest of Sunday on the couch watching The Masters. I am glad Jon Rahm won!

The rest of my week I spent resting as much as possible. I worked a little, read a lot, had soup almost everyday, and binged watched Pretty Little Liars (still so good after all these years). I went to urgent care to check if I had Covid or strep throat. Luckily they both came back negative. It was just the common cold.

I  attempted to do DanceBody online to keep up with the new dances. I would say I mostly marked the movements and had a hard time retaining what was being taught. Ha! Still it felt good to move my body and sweat. And speaking of moving my body, what made me feel better was doing yoga. Wednesday I did a half hour yoga class at-home from Obè. Once I did the yoga class I stopped sneezing and wasn’t as congested.I looked into why this was the case: yoga helps boost your body’s immune system and opens up your nasal passage. So if you have a cold, do yoga!

What I am watching: I started watching the new Rob Lowe show on Netflix called Unstable. I like it but also do not think it’s the best show I have ever seen. It’s a show I put on when I have nothing else to watch. Rob Lowe plays a genius scientist who is unraveling for personal reasons. The board wants to replace him, but his employees are trying to get him to finish a project he has been working on. They recruit his son (played by Rob Lowe’s actual son John Owen) to help. I like the witty banter between Rob Lowe’s character and his son. I also like the side characters who portray nerdy scientists, they are a little socially awkward. I love their friendships and how they accept each other. Overall I enjoy it and say give it a try.

I also started watching The Night Agent on Netflix. I am really enjoying this one! The guy is an FBI agent who works the night shift; answering calls and doing paperwork. He gets a call from a frantic woman. It spirals into a conspiracy that there is a mole in the White House. It’s filled with action and suspense. I highly recommend this one!

What I bought: I decided to buy these sunglasses from Le Specs in caramel. When I see women wear them out and about, I like how they look. I must be in a sunglass kind of mood because this is the second pair I have bought in a month, ha!

LAKE pajamas gifted me with this floral short-long set in blue and this floral shorts set in green. They are both so cute and spring-like. Very comfortable to wear. I always get a size small.

I bought the second book of the Twisted series- Twisted Games. I am enjoying this one as well as I did the first. I like that each book of the series has the same character but focuses on the different girls and their love interest.

Now that I am feeling much better I can’t wait to get outside and enjoy this warm weather. I am very much looking forward to walking the Westside River Parkway this weekend. I may still take it easy and get as much rest as possible, but I am so ready to get out of my apartment. I have cabin fever.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
