“If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever.”
-Alfred Lord Tennyson
Happy Friday! I had a very busy week of creating content, negotiating potential collaborations, and creating new templates to use. I had a little cabin fever on Wednesday so I decided to get out of my apartment for an hour and browse through stores. I still love shopping in stores. I like trying on the new arrivals, knowing how the material feels on me. Shopping on-line is much more convenient but there is something about shopping in person that will never get old for me. You can see some of my outfit try-ons here.
I went to DanceBody this past Tuesday for my second in-person class of Q2. Last week I was sick so couldn’t make it. I tried to do the class online to keep up with the dances and learn the new ones being introduced that week. I was fooling myself thinking I could have not only the energy but the mental capacity to do it while I was sick. After my second in-person class I feel I am getting the gist of the dances. I know the dances, but still screw up a lot. I am not too worried about it, I will eventually nail it down and do the dances in my sleep.
Other than work and dancing, I went to a fun happy hour event last night at The Moore Hotel. I have ben wanting to go to The Moore Hotel for a while. It is located right next to where Foragers used to be (RIP Foragers). I used to frequent the boutique grocery store a lot and would pass by the hotel on my way. It looked like a nice hotel to stay in. Anyway, the event was for Scent Lab, celebrating their new seasonal candles. On their website you can take a quiz on what smells you love the most and they will create a personalized candle for you. It was the perfect evening drinking champagne on the rooftop overlooking the Empire State Building. A classic NYC moment.
What I am watching: Our girl is back!! The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is back for its 5th and final season. I have only watched the first 2 episodes so far and have been enjoying them. The time jump did throw me a little. I had to double check if I was watching the right show. Also not a spoiler, it literally starts off with a time jump. I wish I knew going into it there was one. It seems a little off because that is not how the show has been structured, but I am getting used to it. I am happy the show is back but am so sad it’s the final season.
What I bought: I decided to get a new active dress. I love wearing my navy one during the spring and summer so got a new one in green. It truly is the best option to wear when it’s 90 something degrees. Next I finally bought this raffia belt in natural. I have been thinking about it for over a year now, and finally clicked purchase. It’s a classic belt to wear this spring and summer with shirtdresses and more. Next I bought this straw clutch in blue. I am so excited to use it! BeautyCounter is having a site-wide sale so I got the eye cream that I use. Last but not least I bought the 3rd book of the Twisted series- Twisted Hate. I am still not finished with book 2 but I was in the area and decided to get the 3rd so I have it to start once I finish the other.
