Happy Sunday! It finally feels like fall here in New York. The leaves are changing colors and the weather is crisp. This week I was shopping for fall aesthetics. I was very inspired by muted colors like browns and beige. Brown is typically not a color I wear, even during the autumn season. However, I wouldn’t mind adding a few brown hues to my closet.
One way I am looking to add the color brown to my autumn wardrobe is with this faux leather mini skirt. I am currently having an affinity towards mini skirts this season and think a brown leather one would be a great addition. I already have a black leather mini, so a brown one is clearly a must. You can pair it with button downs, blazers, turtlenecks, blouses, and oversize sweaters. Pair it with this cozy brown sweater– under $100 and on sale- for a monochromatic look. Elevate the outfit with these cute flower hoop earrings. A pair of earrings you will wear a lot throughout the year. Throw on these tortoiseshell cat eye sunglasses (only $15) and this leather crossbody bag.
For another way to style your fall outfits is with a bow. Believe it or not, bows are having a major moment in fashion right now. From runways to the streets, bows are everywhere. Sarah Jessica Parker wore an oversized black bow that draped down her back with her Carolina Herrera tulle dress to the New York City Ballet Fall Gala this past week. If it’s SJP approved, then it’s a must! For those of us who loves bows, this is our time to shine! Anyway, if you are looking to dip into this feminine trend, this oversized plaid bow is perfect for the fall. Wear it with any and all of your outfits.
Accessories are a great way to incorporate brown into your fall wardrobe. These brown suede ankle boots will go with the majority of your outfits this season. They have a little bit of a Western feel to them, which is right on trend. Wear these ankle boots with this fringe sweater dress. Now is the perfect time to wear sweater dresses and this one is a must-have. I love the fringe detailing of the hem-line. Really adds a nice detail to an ordinary dress. This would make for a great Thanksgiving Day dress as well.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, this block-print button mini dress is perfect for the holiday. I love the mixing of both the print and colors; shades of olive with hints of gold and a pop of purple. The removable tassel belt will be a God-send after some pumpkin pie. This is a dress you can wear casually with flats, boots or with metallic shoes for a fancier dinner celebration. Also for Thanksgiving, give the tablescape a beautiful touch of color and print with these harvest garden napkins. Shop all of this week’s Sunday Shopping Top 10 below.
