“There is no friend as loyal as a book”

-Ernest Hemingway

Happy Friday! Now that fall is in full swing, things are starting to pick up. I have so many fun events and gatherings on my calendar to look forward to already this season, and it’s only just begun.

Last weekend I went to see the American Ballet Theatre’s 21st Century Works. ABT’s fall season is different than the spring season in that they are not performing classic ballets. In the spring season they perform Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, etc. The fall season is usually a combination of choreographic pieces. The performance I saw consisted of 3 different pieces choreographed by 3 different choreographers. The first piece was titled Single Eye, choreographed by Alonzo King. It was a contemporary ballet piece that, to me, represented harmony within ourselves and with nature. The next piece was a duet called Depuis le Jour by Gemma Bond. I enjoyed this piece as they had opera singer on stage. The last piece was more of a story than the previous compilation of works. Called On The Dnipro by Alexei Ratmansky, it’s a story of a Ukrainian solider arriving home from the war to his mother and fiancé. When he sees a beautiful woman in his village, he immediately falls in love with her– even though she is betrothed to another man. This was also a beautiful piece.

The rest of my week wasn’t as beautiful as an arabesque, but close enough. I got my hair done Tuesday afternoon– touched up my roots. It was the perfect timing as I walked home during trick-or-trick. I love seeing all the little kids dressed up, enjoying Halloween. I did not celebrate this year– I am not much of a Halloween person. I spent the evening watching Dancing with the Stars Monster Night. And if you are wondering, I think Jason Mraz and Xochitl Gomez will be the final 2. At least should be the final 2.

I had my first photography lesson! I am getting back into photography after all these years. To date myself a little, when I was into photography back in high school it was all film. I obviously do not live under a rock and know how to use a digital camera, but just the basics. I want a refresh on the ins-and-outs of my camera. My end goal is to become a photographer on top of continuing to blog. I want to shoot influencers, families, home decor, brands, and events. I am taking lessons from Ella through Superprof.

Yesterday morning I went uptown to celebrate Tuckernuck’s new home collection in the chicest Upper West Side townhouse. I am a big fan of Tuckernuck so I was over-the-moon happy about attending this event!! Their exclusive tabletop collection consist of tablecloths and napkins. At the event they showed off their home collection as well as a new arrivals from their exclusive labels such as this feathered dress-– that I want in every color. Also a sneak peek at a few pieces launching soon. The event was lovely and it was so nice to meet some of the ladies of Tuckernuck. Also got to catchup with friends. We also went home with a set of napkins of our choice– I went home with these floral napkins that are perfect for Thanksgiving.

I walked around a lot this week, trying to get out of the apartment as much as possible. I went to the Friends apartment to see the lovely tribute to Matthew Perry. Like everyone else, I am devastated. Friends is my favorite show. The show I watch every single day. It’s my comfort show. Those 6 friends have gotten me through the darkest of days and has brought me more joy on the best of days. We all know how much Matthew Perry struggled with addiction, so it’s heartbreaking for his life to end so short while being on his journey of sobriety. Walking up to the Friends apartment I was taken back by the number of people there– there are usually people there taking pictures, but this was way more than normal. Also to see the large pile of flowers and note– it was lovely and heartbreaking.

What I am watching: Speaking of Friends, I finally got around to watching season 3 of The Morning Show. I think this season thus far is good. I don’t know how many more seasons it should run for. Maybe one more. I like how this season seems to be more “action” packed. By action I do not mean fighting, but edge of your seat storylines. I do find it a little weird that Reese Witherspoon doesn’t seem to be in it as much. I am only on the 4th episode so maybe I am wrong in saying that.

What I bought: The only thing I bought this past week was a pair of Swiss-dot tights. I am excited to wear them this holiday season. I think they add a more festive detail to your holiday outfit. They look great with little black dresses.

This weekend I am heading to Jersey to attend the OSU vs. Rutgers football game. It will be a family affair with my cousins, aunt, and uncle. It will be a nice little escape from the city and an enjoyable time with family.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
