Happy Friday! It is finally December, the Rockefeller tree has debuted her lights, and I am blaring Mariah Carey as possibly loud as I can. “Tis the season!
After a relaxing Thanksgiving weekend, I’ve been a little busy bee working on holiday content. Doesn’t Thanksgiving feel as if it were weeks ago instead of last week? Maybe it’s just me, but it feels like it should be mid-December now. Anyway, my holiday gift guides have started (seen here)- I really love doing these guides, I find them fun to do! I’ve also been having fun styling holiday outfits. Invite me to your holiday party so I can wear them please…
Besides holiday work, I went to my usual DanceBody class. I am much more confident in the dances now. It’s a little late in the quarter for me to not feel fully confident in the dances, but that is a testament to how good they are. I find each dance a little challenging and I am loving it.
Last night I went uptown to Rockefeller Center for a little event with Balsam Hill. I went with my friend Sarah as her plus one. Above the skating rink at Rockefeller Center, Balsam Hills has a few cozy chalets. Our assigned chalet was properly named “Champagne Dreams”. We spent about an hour in the chalet drinking delicious margaritas, watching people ice skate, and catching up on life. The chalet was filled with garland wrapped in twinkle lights and gold and silver ornaments. There is a large picnic table inside with cozy blankets. We also had an amazing view of the famous Christmas Tree. It was a nice evening and a great way to kick off the season!
What I am watching: I didn’t have time to start a new show this week. I did watch the Rockefeller Tree Lighting followed by Christmas at Graceland. I thought both were enjoyable. I am loving Cher’s new Christmas song DJ Play a Christmas Song. It’s quite a jam!
*spoilers* I also watched the finale of The Golden Bachelor. I have mixed feelings about the ending. While I do feel Theresa is better suited for Gerry, and have thought that throughout most of the show. I also thought it was going to be Leslie. The breakup between Gerry and Leslie was probably the hardest one to watch in Bachelor history. I feel for Leslie a lot. Gerry did love bomb her– he did it to all of the women there. I like Gerry, but I think his love language is affirmations and doesn’t fully grasp the weight of his words. Even if they were real in the moment. Telling Leslie she is the one and he can’t live without her, only to turn around and say she wasn’t his person is wrong. Unintentionally cruel really. I know there are a lot of theories swirling around right now on why he chose Theresa– especially after this hit piece from Hollywood Reporter. I am not going to go into the theories because it’s all subjective. And like I said, I always thought Theresa was a better match anyway. I really hope they do a Golden Bachelorette and have Leslie as the lead!
What I bought: I went a little holiday crazy this week and bought a few items to potentially wear. I bought this sequined dress to hopefully wear to a holiday party or perhaps New Year’s Eve. Another dress I bought for parties and black tie events is this black ruffle midi dress— currently on sale. I bought this black sheer top for the holidays, but to also wear out at night. I also bought these gold sculpture earrings– $12 dupes of the Bottega Veneta earrings. I’ve been seeing them worn around town and love the way they look. Last but not least, I bought a new book Wreck The Halls. I haven’t had much time to read it this past week, but I am enjoying the holiday love story thus far.

The merriment continues this weekend with holiday gatherings! Tomorrow my aunt, cousin, and my other cousin’s wife are coming into town to shop the holiday markets. I am not sure which one we are going to go to, I find them all to be pretty good. Afterwards we will have mimosas somewhere. Sunday I am going uptown to a friends house for a little holiday party, then we are going to go watch the Park Avenue tree lighting. Then probably go somewhere afterwards to grab a few drinks. Other than the festive activities, I will be working on more holiday content, scouting locations for an upcoming shoot, read more of my book, watch Hallmark movies, and enjoy the weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
