Happy Friday! Thank goodness it’s Friday! Even though this past week was not stressful, I am still ready for some r&r. It was one of those gloomy weeks where I felt unproductive. As my dad said to me today: I was made for the cabana life…. the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.
Last weekend I went uptown to the Jewish Museum to visit the “House of Chloé Exhibition”. For those that may not know, Chloé is a luxury fashion brand founded in 1952 in France by a woman named Gaby Aghion. While I was very familiar with the brand’s clothing, I didn’t know much about its history. All I knew of the brand, besides the clothing, was the different Creative Directors throughout the years like Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, and Clare Waight Keller. It was interesting to learn about Gaby Aghion and how she started the company– creating the first ready-to-wear luxury items for women. The exhibition was amazing and I loved seeing all the designs throughout the years. Especially of the 50s, 60s, and 70s; those were my favorites. It was a nice little afternoon, where afterwards I took a lovely stroll through a snowy Central Park. Nothing is more magical than Central Park covered in snow.
I didn’t go to any events this past week, which was fine. It’s nice sometimes to have a break and these past few months have been crazy– in the best way possible. It gave me enough time to go to B&H and finally get a new lens!! The lens I had before was a 50mm; which is fine but not really conducive to the type of photography I want to do. It’s better to have a 35mm– wider shot. I bought a used one in great condition. It’s also autofocus which my previous lens was manual. Having the lens be autofocus makes a world of difference in photos. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of me. I feel much more confident going into sessions than I was before.
The only other non-work thing I did this past week was pilates. I went back to New York Pilates. And I have to say, it was a FUN class! You don’t usually get to say that about exercise. We did this move called jumping. It’s where you lie down on the carriage, push off of the bar to “jump”. It’s both fun and challenging– we did it using both feet, one foot, and while doing bicycle and scissor crunches. I could have done it all day. Another move we did was when you have one foot on the carriage, the other on the ground, and two hands on the bar. You lift yourself up and bring the leg that was on the ground up to your stomach like a crunch. I don’t know what this move is called but I loved it! If you know what move I am talking about, please DM me. I can’t seem to figure out the name. Anyway, I have really enjoyed doing pilates these past couple of weeks and am happy I brought it back into my workout routine.
What I am watching: There is a new doc-series on Hulu (originally on CNN) about Martha Stewart, called The Many Lives of Martha Stewart. It has been fascinating to watch! It’s a 4 part series– although I have a feeling when it was on CNN it was a 2 hour special. I only say this because at the end of episode 1 they abruptly cut it off while a woman is in the middle of a sentence telling a story. They never go back to it. Someone did a poor job in editing. Anyway, the documentary is amazing and I am learning a lot about Martha. I knew she got her start as a model, but I had no idea she worked on Wall Street. It’s also amazing to see how much she has pathed the way for women in business. The series also makes me feel inspired and motivated– I need to craft something or prune a garden asap!
What I bought: As mentioned I bought a new lens this past week. I also replenished my nighttime oil. I absolutely love this pro-collagen oil one. I use it every night and it helps keep my skin moisturized while I sleep.

This weekend I have nothing on the agenda. I will hopefully take my camera out to practice– depending on the weather. Other than that I will see where the weekend takes me; frolicking around, reading, etc.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
