“Stop acting so small. You are the universe in ecstatic motion”

-Rumi

Happy Friday! One week of TTPD! I can’t stop listening to the entire album. Every song is amazing but I have a few that I notice I gravitate towards more: “Fortnight”, “The Tortured Poets Department”, “Down Bad”, “Guilty as Sin”, “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”, “The Alchemy”, “imgonnagetyouback”, “So High School”, and “The Prophecy”. I am sure others will become my favorite as time goes on, as I really do love all of the songs on the album.

Last weekend the weather was so beautiful, I took a very long walk around West Village. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of all the beautiful cherry blossom trees, flowers on front stoops, and a very yummy gluten free donut from Matchaful. The leisurely stroll really did wonders for my mental health. As well as the picnic in Central Park with friends.

A friend of mine is moving to Sweden… yes Sweden! She fell in love and is now moving to a whole new country for her boyfriend. I am so excited for her (and her boyfriend), they are a lovely couple. Although I am happy for them, I am sad to see her go. We have been friends for a few years now and I am going to miss our little gatherings. The picnic was lovely; lots of food, drinks, cute dogs, and great conversations. I am so happy it’s finally picnic season- much more to come!

The rest of my week wasn’t as lovely as flowers on trees and the sun on my face but it was decent. I spent most of it checking things off my to-do list, which always makes me feel lighter. I went to physical therapy again– some improvement but still have pain. We spent some of the session testing out a new band for me to use at home, and she did her usual massage and stretch to release tightness. I am trying to stay optimistic about my progression even though I wish it was completely healed by  now.

Yesterday I got my nails done at GlossLab— just in time for my weekend getaway. I got my usual red gel manicure. I wanted to get a lighter pink but couldn’t decide on one that I liked. Bless the woman who was doing my nails because I kept switching (after we tested the color), before finally deciding to go with classic red. I should have just picked it out to start with because it is always my go-to. If you are looking to get a mani or pedi this spring get 20% off your next appointment at GlossLab with code: MAGGIE20

What I am watching: My parents recommended Masters of the Air to me a few weeks ago– starring Austin Butler, Callum Turner, and Barry Keoghan. I finally started to watch the mini series on AppleTV+ and am enjoying it so far. It takes an episode or two to figure out who is who– two of them have the same nickname and they introduced a lot of characters episode one. It’s a true story about the 100th bomb group in the air force during WWII.

Next I rewatched Varsity Blues. I haven’t seen that movie in a long time, but I caught the ending of it as I scrolled through my Hulu Live the other day. Since then I wanted to rewatch the classic– it’s a great movie. Felt a little nostalgic watching; of high school days, the late 90s / early 2000s, Dawson Leery. Of course like many other movies of the past, some parts did not age well, but that’s life. One part I completely forgot about is when the head cheerleader changes out of her uniform in Mox’s car and she is wearing a black strapless bra….. in no way is that realistic! As an ex-cheerleader I can confidentially tell you a strapless bar would be the worst thing to wear while cheering– clearly a male fantasy. Other than that it was fun to rewatch the movie.

What I bought: I didn’t buy anything new this past week, but I did start a new book The Phoenix Bride.  So far I am really enjoying it!  I almost bought this white ruffle sleeve mini dress. I do love it, but already have a few little white dresses to throw on. I may end up purchasing it if and when it goes on sale.
