“and sometimes, against all odds, against all logic, we hope”

Happy Friday! I am back in New York after a wonderful week in Ohio visiting my family and friends. Although I am happy to be back, I was sad leaving. I could have done another day or two; lying by the pool, playing with my nieces, hanging out with my family and friends. I enjoyed the time I had there!

Last weekend was my 20th high school reunion. I always help put on the reunions. I was over the moon happy with the turnout of this years. We were a little worried for a minute that the attendance was going to be low. Luckily people pulled through and bought tickets the week of. We held it at a local bar reserving an area. Luckily the bar was pretty much empty with only a few locals here and there. My class pretty much took over the entire bar, and it was so much fun! My heart was overflowing with happiness to be back with friends and to catch up with classmates. I laughed a lot, had one too many, lost my voice (still in recovery), and left with a smile on my face.

Besides my reunion I met up with a few friends for brunch at the new Littleton’s Market in Upper Arlington. The old Huffman’s Market was acquired and turned into a gourmet grocery store with an outdoor cafe. Anyway, it was so nice to see my friends and catch up. They are not in my graduating class, they are a year a head of me. It was lovely to be with them and made my heart, once again, overflow with happiness.

I flew back to New York Monday afternoon and have spent the rest of the week catching up on work. I went to my usual DanceBody Tuesday morning full-out class. We are learning the new Q3 dances that were introduce at the beginning of the month. I picked up on a few dances, but will have to practice at home through their DanceBody Live. I, especially, need to work on “Jumpin’, Jumpin’ ” by Destiny’s Child. It’s fast. One of those dances where I know the movement, but have to get used to the tempo of the song.

What I am watching: Still watching Wimbledon. Excited for another Djokovic vs. Alcaraz final match! It should be really good. Also rooting for Paolini for the women’s singles.

Besides tennis, I started watching the Appletv+ series Presumed Innocent starring Jake Gyllenhaal. I do like it, but it took 2 episodes to catch my interest. I have not seen the original movie, so have no idea who the murderer is. I go back and forth with Rusty (Jake Gyllenhaal’s character)- not sure if he did it or not. There are two other people I suspect, but will not say who (no spoilers). We will see who it is at the end! I have caught up to where the series is now. I’ll have to wait until next week to see more of the trial. I am assuming there is 2, possibly 3 episodes left.

What I bought:  A few weekends ago while I was getting ready to go out I noticed that I no longer have going out outfits. Majority of my clothes are day dresses or event attire. I do not have much to wear to go out at night. I decided to buy this simple and classic black off the shoulder top. Under $100. I haven’t received it yet, so not sure how it fits or if I like it.

I also bought this cute striped drop-waist midi dress to add to my ever growing collection of day dresses. It’s something easy to throw on while still looking chic and put together. Only a few left in each size!

Last but not least I bought this book from Target because of their circle week sales. Most books are on sale at a really great price!

This weekend I have nothing on the agenda except to celebrate Bastille Day. Thinking of either going to the Bastille Day festival or head to one of the many French bakeries or restaurants. I am heavily French from my maternal grandmother side of the family. My grandmother still celebrates Bastille Day, so I have adopted the tradition. Other than that I am ok with either a leisurely weekend or meeting friends for drinks. It is suppose to rain, so maybe a relaxing weekend will be it. Much needed after a busy few weeks. I will, of course, watch the Wimbledon finals and start a new book (haven’t decided which one).

Have a wonderful weekend xo
