Happy Friday! TGIF! I am so happy it’s the weekend. I need a little r&r right now. Either that or a lobster roll would probably solve all my problems….
Last weekend I went uptown to the Bastille Day festival run by the L’Alliance New York. It was an enjoyable festival with some of the best french bakeries in town. I was so sad I couldn’t eat the pastries, but I did get a few macarons (which are gluten free). During the festival they had some entertainment like a little parade of vintage french cars, a fake protest (maybe resembling the resistance, still unsure about that), and lots of music. I walked up and down the few blocks going from vendor to vendor. Besides the bakeries they had a few toy and clothing companies. Cartolina was there; I enjoyed looking through their new collection. It was a great day and I was happy I was able to celebrate my heritage. I couldn’t wait to call my grandmother and tell her all about it.
The rest of the week was a nice balance between work and play. I went back to my usual DanceBody full out class. We learned another new dance for Q3. This dance was hip-hop with the song “Wall to Wall” by Chris Brown. I really like this one as well. I still need to practice most the dances, but I am quickly picking up on a few of them.
Wednesday evening I was invited to an early screening of Twisters— the new movie with Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos. I invited my friend Jackie to come along. Before the movie started there was a surprise appearance by the actors. Glen Powell is just as handsome and charismatic in person as he is on tv. I was disappointed that his dog Brisket wasn’t with him, but I guess Glen will do! Anyway, the movie is really good! It’s a different story from the original Twister, but they do pay homage to it here and there. It was thrilling, funny, and heartbreaking. Highly suggest seeing it! Upon leaving they gave us some fun swag items– a t-shirt that says tornado wrangler and on the back says “if you feel it, chase it”, a logo hat, and some more stuff.
I met up with my friend Roshan for a little coffee and catch-up on her rooftop Thursday morning. Roshan just launched her new tableware company Ro’Table. It has cute tablecloths, crockery, napkins, candles, vases, and more. Roshan gifted me a few gorgeous floral items that I cannot wait to share! But besides chatting about tablescapes, it was wonderful to catch-up on each other’s lives. I met Roshan through my book club and I am so grateful for our blooming friendship.
What I am watching: I started season 3 of The Bear. I have only watched the first episode thus far and thought it was boring. I am sure the rest of the season will be amazing, but that first episode lost me. It was beautiful at first. I enjoyed Cam going through memories. It was shot well and artistically captivating. However, I didn’t need an entire episode of it.
I watched the movie IF with Ryan Reynolds. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. Very cute idea of imaginary friends coming to life. There are so many wonderful moments. It’s a great film for all ages. I was thinking back to my childhood; for someone who had a wild imagination I am surprised I never had an imaginary friend. Feel sorta sad about that now. In my next life I hope I create one.
What I bought: I bought a few items from the Nordstrom Sale. First I bought this eye gel cream for under $100. my eye cream has been discontinued and I am in need of a new one. I have been wanting to try the advance night repair eye cream for a while and now that it was finally on sale, I grabbed at the chance to get it! During the Nordstrom Sale I always buy underwear– these lace ones are my favorite- under $20.
I took advantage of books being on sale and bought Summer Romance for only $13. Excited to start reading it today!

This weekend I have nothing planned except to run some errands. Honestly I am spent. I don’t why I am so tired. It will be nice to rest and relax this weekend. However, twist my arm I will go out for a glass or two of rosé if asked.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
