Happy Friday! Go team USA!! Who else is ready for the Olympics?! I know I am. I feel much more patriotic right now than I did during the 4th of July. Perhaps it’s the competitive aspect of the games. All I know is that I am excited to watch my favorites compete and pretend I know the rules of fencing. If I were competing in the summer olympics I would do either gymnastics or rhythmic gymnastics. Unfortunately I can only do the splits and a cartwheel….
Speaking of physical activity, I went back to my usual DanceBody full-out class. We learned another new dance… aye yi yi it is a lot of dances to learn, but I really like all of them. I think this quarter is pretty challenging and I am loving it. I am excited about these challenges!
Besides working up a sweat, Tuesday evening I met up with a book club friend of mine at Sweet Pickle Books in the Lower East Side. This summer Sweet Pickle Books is running a program where every Tuesday and Wednesday evening you can donate your books in exchange for… a jar of pickles. Yes pickles! The bookstore sells both used books and pickles – hence the name. I donated about 10 books and went home with dill pickles- which are very delicious by the way. I hope to go back sometime this summer to donate more. After our pickle excursion we went to Skin Contact for some rosé and a much needed catch up. It was a fun evening!
The rest of my week has been the usual of work, reading, and working out. I started a broadcast channel on IG for exclusive content, current fashion wants, random thoughts, book recommendations, and more. Would love for you to join (it’s free)!
What I am watching: I watched the new romantic movie Find Me Falling on Netflix starring Harry Connick Jr. I thought it was cute, some funny parts, beautiful scenery. The suicide cliff was definitely a choice to put in (not a spoiler it’s in the trailer)… but it does tie the story together a little. It wasn’t the best movie I have seen on Netflix, but I still would recommend watching. I enjoyed it.
Also on Netflix I watched the Simone Biles:Rising docuseries. Loved it! It starts off during the last Olympic games when she got the twisties. It follows her journey of recovery and then preparation for the now Paris Olympics. They interview a lot of other prominent gymnasts like Dominique Dawes, Aly Raisman, and Betty Okino. It’s a fascinating documentary. I stand by my statement that Simone Biles is the greatest athlete of all time… and not just gymnastics, above every athlete. She has 5 skills named after her and only a very small amount of her competitors can only do one of those skills. No one else has that kind of monopoly on their sport.
What I bought: I finally bought these white satin pants (felling out fast!) that I have constantly been sharing on LTK. I think these pants are a staple piece to have. They look so comfortable and chic. I also bought these brown leather cut-out sandals. I have them in white and wear it all the time. I wanted the brown to wear into the fall season– under $100. Last but not least, I bought this white short sleeve button-down– currently on sale and under $50. It’s another classic summer staple to have.

This weekend I currently do not have plans except to cheer on Team USA! I do have to run some errands and want to shop for a display bowl to put my collection of matchbooks in– things are getting messy. Besides shopping I will be enjoying the beautiful weather we will have here in NYC, as well as finish my book, work out, and hopefully spend time with friends.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
