Throw the confetti, eat cake, toast champagne, it’s my birthday week! I am someone who enjoys celebrating their birthday, but also do not have to make it a big deal. My birthday is this weekend and I am ready for another trip around the sun. While I may not get a mountain of presents, one is never too old for a gift or two. My parents usually gift me one present each year. Although my birthdays are now more about being with the people I love than about getting gifts, I decided to do a little birthday wish list. Because why not! It’s fun! Here are the things that I am currently wanting and needing.
One item that I need is a new classic trench coat. My current trench has seen better days as I have had it for about 12 years. I am eyeing this icon trench from J.Crew— currently on sale. This one has a detachable hoodie, which would be great way to change up the look depending where I am going. A classic trench is one item that I believe every woman ( and man) should have in their closet.
I’ve been looking for cute ways to display my seashells and matchbooks that I have collected over the years. This pretty blue floral bowl would look great displayed on my console with all of my matchbooks. For my seashells, I wanted something simple and transparent. This apothecary jar is exactly what I am looking for– has some design to it, but my shells will be the main focal point.
Also for the home I want new flatware. Something a little more aesthetically pleasing than my run-of-the-mill silverware. I am eyeing these bamboo handle flatware set. It’s a more elegant look. Another item I am coveting is a new coffee table book. There are so many amazing books that I want to display around my home, but I am first eyeing The Book of Flowers. A collection of French flower painter Pierre-Jospeh Redouté from the 1700/1800s. I think this book would be so lovely to look through, and would look beautiful as part of my growing collection.
Speaking of flowers, I’ve been wanting to get back into needlepoint lately. I miss doing it and have been itching for a new project. I’ve been thinking about creating a floral needlepoint pillow to place on my bed. I am currently looking at this vintage floral canvas— I will then add a trim to complete the decorative pillow.
If I am not sewing florals or looking at paintings I am creating arrangements. I am in need of scissors to cut all of the floral bouquets I buy myself. I currently use my regular paper scissors, and honestly it’s not the best. This two-pack garden flower scissors are on sale and under $10.
For items that I do need, a neck pillow is first on the list. I am someone who can’t help but fall fast asleep on the plane. I toss and turn for hours at home in bed, but on a plane it’s immediate lights out. I need a travel pillow to help support my head while I nod off. I am looking at this pink silk neck pillow for comfort and style. Silk is the best material to sleep or nap on as it’s great for your skin and hair.
Now onto items that I want and have been coveting. Lately I have been really into carrying around cotton tote bags. I use them for groceries, carrying packages, and more. I want this tote bag from the American Ballet Theatre not only because I like it, but to support them. I used to work for ABT and it’s still to this day one of my favorite jobs that I have ever had. I also go to the ballet each summer season. To go with the tote, this coin pendant gold necklace. I have ben coveting a pendant necklace for a long time now but could never decide on which one to get. I love how simple yet intricate the design is on this one. I would probably choose the small size. Shop all of my birthday wish list below.
