men's fall fashion

Now that we are stepping into the autumn season, I thought I’d give a little fall fashion style guide to the men in our lives. When it comes to men’s style for the fall I tend to like the classic, preppy, sorta outdoorsy look. Barbour meets Brooks Brothers. Rugged elegance we used to call it when I worked at J.Crew eons ago.

While walking the streets of New York I like to take note on what people are wearing. One thing is for sure, if there is a must-have item for men of all ages it is a Barbour jacket. Whether it’s the classic barn jacket or this quilted jacket in sandstone, Barbour is timeless for a reason. Another outerwear item that I like is this quilted vest. I love the dark green coloring with the small brown piping. Throw it over a classic chambray shirt or heather grey polo sweater.

Speaking of sweaters, there is a running joke on Twitter (x) with the caption “what’s the sluttiest thing a man can do”. To me it’s wear this cable-knit roll neck sweater. It’s giving Billy Crystal in When Harry Met Sally. Robert Redford in The Way We Were. Chris Evans in Knives Out. You get the picture. It is old English outdoorsmen meets preppy elegance.

Moving on from that…. a color I seem to be gravitating towards for men’s fall fashion is a deep green. This deep green cashmere crewneck sweater is beautiful. Pair it with these worn wash jeans and suede loafers for a night out. Shop more of my must-have items for men’s fall fashion below.
