“It is astonishing how short a time it takes for very wonderful things to happen”

-Frances Hodgson Burnett

Happy Friday! I had butternut squash soup the other day from Whole Foods and it honestly made my week. I am still thinking about it….

Last weekend I walked around the West Village to look at fall decor. What I love about New York is how involved everyone gets with the holiday season. Restaurants, shops, and apartment buildings go all out on decor. I can walk around the city for hours and hours just looking at different decorations. There were some really cute front stoops with colored pumpkins and flowers, and also some grotesque Halloween decor with zombies, skeletons, and more. I prefer the prettier ones– like this all pink decor front stoop. If I had a townhouse I would decorate my front stoop in such a manner. Anyway, all the decor has got me even more excited for Christmas; getting to see all the festive holiday delight.

It was one of those weeks where it was more work than play. I spent most of it working on content for a few collaborations I have coming up. I submitted one draft and am currently waiting for approval. The only two I am still making content for and will hopefully submit my drafts early next week. I am having fun creating content for brands. It’s one part of my job I really enjoy– getting to be creative.

Although most of my week was work, I did get to attend at least one event. This past Monday I went to the Meta offices in Hudson Yards for an intimate q&a with Pamela Anderson about her new cookbook I Love You: Recipes from the Heart. I have always liked Pamela Anderson, but over the past few years- with her documentary and her more holistic approach to life – I have really grown more into a fan. She was so sweet, kind, funny, and down to earth during the q&a. She didn’t have any makeup on, which there has been lots of buzz about. Anyway, I enjoyed hearing from Pamela Anderson; how she came about in writing a cookbook, where her love for food comes from, and what cooking means to her. It’s all from a place of love and togetherness. Her recipes are vegan (as she is a vegan). There is also a section in the book where she gives recipes for at-home self-care remedies like coconut hydrating sugar scrub. Not only do the recipes look delicious, the imagery in the cookbook is beautiful. The entire event was lovely and it was so cool to see another side of Pamela Anderson.

What I am watching: I watched the entire first part of season 4 of Outer Banks. I thought it was good. I wasn’t sure how they would continue on, but the way they have fits seamlessly into the story. I am going to get a lot of heat for saying this, but JJ may be my least favorite Pogue. The way he acted, and the things he did, in the beginning of season 4 was so selfish and reckless. I would have chewed him out. Instead they just shrugged and moved on. That is my only complaint about this season. There is no way anyone in real life would just let those things slide. But I am sure he will eventually redeem himself. Other than my somewhat dislike for JJ I am enjoying the new adventure.

What I bought: I’ve been in a bow mood lately. I keep shopping and buying cute bows to wear. I bought this large black sheer Swiss-dot bow to wear for the holiday season (and beyond)– currently on sale and under $20. I bought a new book- Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez. I have been devouring it. Last but not least, I bought this phone tripod stand. My current ring light is broken and I need something stable and flexible to help me create content at home. This phone stand has been absolutely amazing– folds into itself and becomes a selfie-stick, also comes with a wireless remote so it’s easier to take photos.

This weekend I have nothing planned and I am happy about it. Honestly I am ok with just staying home both nights to watch a movie, but can also be persuaded into going out for a drink. I do want to walk around to look at more fall decor– I should go up to the UES. Maybe I will go antiquing for some new decor. I also need to get a new book so I have something to read right away once I finish my current one. Other than that I just want to enjoy another fall weekend here in New York.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
