Happy Friday! From filming my own content to being part of a major tv series, it’s been a whirlwind of a week. A tiring, but wonderful week.
I started my week off by attending the Buru store opening in the Upper East Side. Buru clothing and accessories can be described as unique and elegant. Fun pieces to wear to parties, along with classic pieces you can wear to work. Their store is super cute with lots of color and delightful, one-of-a-kind, decor. Also showcasing their newest collection at the event was jewelry brand Mignonne Gavigan. It was so nice to see both Maggie and Morgan (owners of Buru and Mignonne Gavigan) and to catch up with them. I also got to see some fellow influencers I haven’t seen in a while. Overall it was a lovely evening– stop by the store to check it out!
Wednesday was a very special day. Once again I was on set with And Just Like That.. filming background. I can’t give away too much of the scene but we shot in front of the Guggenheim museum– which in itself was surreal. I arrived at holding at 3:30pm and didn’t get home until 1am. I wore an old J.McLaughlin pink shirtdress as an UES pedestrian walking with her husband/boyfriend/partner. Wardrobe approved my outfit, otherwise I would have had to change into something from their racks of clothes. The scene is suppose to be set in the summertime. Luckily it wasn’t too cold outside. I guess this is one of those moments I am grateful for climate change; it being in the 70s instead of 50 something, otherwise I would have been shivering cold. Anyway, it was a very long, tiring day but so worth it. I loved every minute of being on set. The other background actors were very nice and I got to chat with a few SAG members about their experiences. Which was neat to hear. Maybe someday I will get a SAG card… who knows. I am not looking to become an actor, in terms of having a speaking part. However, I do enjoy being on set and part of the scene. It’s so cool to get to watch these a-list actors act! Maybe I will do more background acting or maybe not. We will see! I can’t wait until the episode comes out– will let you know when it does so you can spot me in the pink dress!
The rest of my week was basically recovering from being on set. My body isn’t used to the long hours and late night, so I was really feeling the aches and pains on Thursday. I did an Obè yoga class to help relieve the knots. I felt so much better after doing so. I do not know how actors do it day in and day out. I guess it’s something your body gets used to. I could probably do it once a week, but some of the other background actors do this 5 days a week. Impressive really. Besides trying to recover I spent the week working on a few collaborations I have coming up.
What I am watching: I caved and started watching Tell Me Lies. I read the book and honestly didn’t like it at all. However, everyone I know has been raving about the tv series, so I decided to give it a shot. This is one of those rare moments when I like the show better than the book. I felt the book was a little triggering for me. I also have a hard time reading a book when I dislike every character. Apparently that doesn’t apply to watching a tv show. I have no issues hate watching Stephen and Lucy. Who knows why. Anyway, I do like the show and do find it addicting.
What I bought: I finally bought these cute ruffle ankle socks to wear with loafers. A pack is under $15. I have been eyeing them for a while and finally purchased them after seeing someone wear them at the Buru event. A cute little detail to your fall outfit. Next I bought these black oval shape sunglasses– under $100. I think they look so chic on. Next I bought a new bra. I had to since one of my current ones ripped. Yes it ripped, that is how long I have been wearing it. Then I found out that the bra that I have been wearing for years is discontinued *sigh*. I ended up buying this lace one in cafe color. It is vey comfortable and I will probably get a second one. Last but not least I bought a new book: A Witch’s Guide to Fakedating a Demon by Sarah Hawley. I wanted a lighthearted, fun, Halloween type book to read. ‘Tis the season! This is the first of the Glimmer Falls series. So far I am enjoying it!

This weekend I am going out with some friends. We are starting the evening off at one of my friend’s apartments; a little wine and charcuterie. Then we will see where the night takes us. I am excited to be with friends and catch up. To go out on the town. Other than that I will be reading my book and enjoying the weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
