“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go”
-anon
Happy Friday! I first want to start off by saying that I hope all of you who have, or know someone who has, been affected by the hurricanes are safe. I can’t begin to imagine the devastation of what you are going through and I hope you know there are people out there that want to help. And may God help you get through this. If you are someone, like me, who wants to help- here are resources.
Last weekend I went uptown for dinner and drinks with some friends. We tried a, new-to-us, restaurant Amarena. An Italian restaurant with a quaint atmosphere and delicious food. They have lots of gluten free options– just ask! I was able to have linguini alla nerano but switched out the linguini for GF noodles. After dinner we went to The Auction House, which is this bar lounge that has a romantic, baroque look to it. Perfect for date night! The entire night was fun and it was great to catch up with friends.
I finally went back to DanceBody. I haven’t really been over the past few months because of being in and out of town or just busy in general. It felt good to be back, dancing and sweating! They started the new Q4 dances. I surprisingly had a decent grip on the ones that were introduced. Not perfect, but at least picked up more movements than I usually would in the beginning. The dances I like so far are “Me & U” and “Nasty”.
I met with my friend Roshan, founder of the new (and chic) tableware company Ro’Table. We met for coffee and tea at Cafe Luna in the West Village. It was so nice to catch up on what is going on in our lives. Cafe Luna is a cute little restaurant on Hudson. Great for meeting someone for drinks, brunch, or to stop by and grab a pastry to go.
The rest of my week has been all business and creating content. I have a big UGC project due next week that I have been working on. I spent all day yesterday shooting content…. and I do not like it. What I shot was not up to par to the vision that I had. So I stepped away, did a little yoga, and went back to the drawing board. It’s not my concept that I do not like (which my proposal was approved) it’s my execution. I think I figured out another to way to approach it; in a way that is more intriguing and still aligned to the company’s message and my original concept. I know I will get it all done by the draft deadline.
What I am watching: I finally watched the movie The Fall Guy starting Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. I thought it was ok. Not the worst movie or the best movie I have ever seen. The saving grace is that it’s action-packed so it keeps your attention. However, I felt the chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt was not there. Both great actors in their own right, just didn’t feel their character’s connection. Still worth seeing in my book.
I started watching the newest season of Selling Sunset. I am at the episode where they are all judging each other by their unprofessional outfits that they wear in office and at broker events. I find it really rich that those that are judging the others are doing so while also wearing inappropriate clothes to professional settings. And honestly, I think everyone at this point understands the style of these ladies. It’s been prominent since season 1 that they wear unconventional clothes to work. If a client has a problem with that then that’s on the client for not knowing who they are working with. And also, let the ladies dress up! I want to see their stylish, outlandish clothes– that is part of the Selling Sunset charm!
What I bought: I couldn’t have bought this black pleated ballet dress any faster. It’s a classic little black dress that I will wear for years. I can’t wait to wear it during the holiday season– dressed up with fancy earrings and shoes. Speaking of the holidays, I bought this 6″ maroon velvet bow barrette– under $10. I can’t wait to wear it during the fall and winter season.

This weekend I have nothing on the agenda. I am looking forward to a relaxing fall weekend. I want to walk around looking at fall decor. To curl up with a book and then binge watch Gilmore Girls. A lovely weekend in my book!
