“Feel everything that is beautiful and possible in your soul, and let yourself become it”

-butterflies rising

Happy Friday! To be honest this week was slow. I didn’t do much except work, and even doing that was like pulling teeth. It was one of those weeks where I felt unmotivated to do anything. I blame the weather.

For all the little things I did that wasn’t work related, one of the things I enjoyed the most was baking pumpkin bread. I usually bake one or two loafs of gluten free pumpkin bread around this time of year. ‘Tis the season for pumpkin. I like to have a slice with almond butter in the morning for breakfast or with my soup at night. I get my gluten free pumpkin bread from King Arthur Baking Company. Very good! I enjoy baking and would love to do more of it; what I really want to bake is lemon tarts. Been craving those for a few months now, but can’t find a gluten free recipe that I like.

To give myself a break, and to get some fresh air, I went for a long walk around the West Village yesterday. The West Village is truly my favorite part of Manhattan. My favorite area to frolic around. I love the treelined streets, brownstone townhouses, and cute boutiques on Bleecker Street. If you have followed me for a while then you know how often I am in the West Village. Anyway, going to a walk, as well as going in and out of stores, really rejuvenated me. I needed to look at pretty things to get inspired again. Sometimes you have to step back and take a break in order to find your creativity again.

What I bought: I ended up buying this classic fair isle cardigan. It would be a great go-to for the fall and winter season.  I am probably going to hold off on shopping until I really start browsing for holiday outfits and gifts.

What I am watching: I finally watched the Martha Stewart documentary on Netflix. I don’t care what anyone says about Martha Stewart, I love her. I find her inspiring; would love to have her level of creativity, ambition, and business intelligence. I even love her style and hair. I mean some of her outfits from the 60s-90s, chefs kiss. Anyway, the documentary is really great and gives you a more in-depth insight into Martha, her life, and her business empire. The OG Influencer.

I started watching the second half of Outer Banks. I believe I have two episodes left in the season. I know what happens, thanks to the internet…. (insert eye roll) but at least I do not know HOW *it* happens so there’s that. I am liking this season, but I kind of like it better when they were actually going on a treasure hunt. It felt more exciting than watching them constantly run away from the cops like they are this season.

While my week may have been uneventful, this weekend will be busy. Tomorrow night I am going to one of my book club friend’s apartment for a housewarming party. It will be fun to get to see my book club friends as our gatherings have been put on pause for months because Guest of a Guest closed down. Then on Sunday I am going to brunch with a few friends– a friend of ours who moved to Sweden is back in town visiting, so we are having a get together to catch up. I am excited for a weekend of friends, good food, and fun! I am definitely in the mood to get out and about.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
