“Be present in all things and thankful for all things”
-Maya Angelou
Happy Friday and happy Thanksgiving! I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating with friends or family, and ate lots of food. I am still feeling comatose from the amount of food I had, and happy as a clam about it. There is lots to be thankful for this year but mostly I am grateful for my family, friends, Taylor Swift, my business, and all the little things that bring me joy and happiness.
Before I gobbled on turkey and pumpkin pie, I kicked-off the festive season with Buru’s annual holiday party at the Carlyle. It’s starting to become one of my favorite traditions. I thoroughly enjoyed not only catching up with fellow bloggers, friends, and the Buru girls, but to toast to the holiday season in one of the most iconic hotels in the world. There is nothing like getting dressed up and sipping champagne at the Carlyle (especially at Bemelmans). The party was held in a fancy suite where Buru showcased their current collaboration with Pencil & Paper Co. I wore this pretty floral wrap skirt (size xs) with an old white feathered sleeve button down. The entire evening was lovely! The perfect way to start the season!
I finally went back to DanceBody. It’s been a few weeks since I have been there. I couldn’t go a few weeks ago, then I forgot to sign up the following week, and then last week I didn’t feel like going. This week, however, I was ready to shake and move! At this point I have all the dances down, so am just enjoying performing them. Next month they will switch up some of the songs to add an additional challenge, which I am looking forward to.
The rest of my week was geared toward prepping for Thanksgiving; cleaning, cooking, getting work done, etc. My cousin’s wife was supposed to come into town for the parade but we happily nixed the idea once we saw the weather forecast. Instead I watched it from the comforts of my home, warm and dry. I enjoy going to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, but I drawl the line at standing in the cold rain for hours. Anyway, after the parade I took the train into Jersey to have dinner and spend the evening with my cousin and his wife. It was nice to be around family and to catch up! We had great conversations, lots of food, and a cute dog to pet. Couldn’t ask for more!
What I am watching: I finally caught up on season 2 of Shrinking with Harrison Ford and Jason Segel. I love this show! It’s so funny but also heartwarming. I love the dysfunctional friendships they all have with each other. Highly suggest it!
Last night at my cousin’s we watched all 3-parts of the JonBenét Ramsey docuseries on Netflix. It’s SO good! When JonBenét was murdered I was 11 years old. I knew of the case but not the details. Of course as I have gotten older, and the case continued to pop in and out of the news, I started to pay a little bit more attention to it. I do not want to give anything away but the documentary, and finally getting into the details of the case, completely changed my mind. Not that I was fully on board with any of the accusations that the media falsely created, I was none the wiser. It’s saddens me this case still hasn’t been solved after almost 30 years when in reality it could have been solved within a few years if the police weren’t incompetent and/or out to create false narratives.
What I bought: On a whim I decided to buy this cute wool bustier top for nights out with friends and/or for dates. I think it would be so chic with a pair of black jeans, or perhaps with a sheer or lace skirt for the holidays.

This weekend I have nothing on the agenda. I am looking forward to relaxing; sleeping in, reading, leisurely wandering around. I have a jam-packed December so want to get in moments of rest and rejuvenation as much as I possibly can. ‘Tis the season!
Have a wonderful weekend xo
