Happy Friday! Baby it’s cold outside! While I may be shivering, it hasn’t stopped me from enjoying the holidays here in New York.
This past week I had a doctor’s appointment in the Upper East Side, so I decided to take the morning off and explore a little. The Upper East Side does a wonderful job in decorating for the holidays. There were already some gorgeous townhouses displayed with pretty wreaths in windows, ornaments on garlands draped over railings, and Nutcrackers guarding front doors. Some went all out with blow up snowmen and others kept it classic with silver and gold decor. After going up and down Madison Ave I finally decided to warm up with a nice cup of hot matcha at Ralph’s. It was a lovely, festive morning.
To gear up for more holiday fun I got my nails done at Glosslab. This time opting for classic holiday red… ’tis the season after all! My manicurist couldn’t stop laughing at how bad of a job I did in taking off my previous nail polish. Apparently I had it so far up my cubicles, plus there was still a tint of red. What can I say, this is why I go to the nail salon haha! Anyway, for your next Glosslab appointment take 20% off with code MAGGIE20.
The rest of my week was prepping for my photoshoot that I did today with my photographer Marth. Let me tell you, taking photos in the 20 degree weather is not for the weak. One of my outfits was strapless, so that was fun and bitter cold. Luckily Ralph Lauren is completely cool with people stopping in and using the restrooms downstairs. I went in and out of the store to change in the private restroom. They were all so nice and understanding about it– especially since it was freezing out. Anyway, I am now officially done with photoshoots for the year! It’s all candid photos and REELs from here on out!
What I am watching: I watched the new Lindsay Lohan holiday movie on Netflix- Our Little Secret. Also starring Ian Harding (from PLL), Kristin Chenoweth, and Tim Meadows (a Mean Girls reunion!). The movie is adorable! I loved it and can’t wait to watch it again. It was funny, heartwarming, swoon worthy, and more. My only complaint– and this is a personal problem- is that Lindsay wears the DÔEN dress (the white silk dress with red flowers) that I regret not buying. So seeing her wear it in the movie both excited me and made me sad. The one that got away.. sigh.
I binged watched the entire Cruel Intentions series on Prime. I have to say I really enjoyed it! It pays homage to the movie but has an identity of its own. The plot is somewhat the same; filthy rich step-siblings who manipulate and seduce others in twisted games. However, it doesn’t follow the story exactly; names are changed, characters are added, and the step-sibling’s bet is different. The girl who plays Caroline (Sarah Michelle-Gellar’s character) is flawless. She perfectly captures the sophistication and mischievousness of the character; plus her wardrobe is impeccable. Lucian, however, is no Ryan Phillippe. Maybe it’s because I am older now, but I find him to be creepy. Whereas I found Ryan Phillippe to be mysterious and poised. I also do not understand Lucian’s outfits. He looks like he is either cosplaying the 80s or is at a Balmain FW party. Whoever put him in the yellow plaid pants with the tight white leather jacket needs to be fired. His wardrobe is more fashion week trendy than old money. And Cece is my favorite character. I am excited for season 2!
What I bought: Thinking of potential New Year’s Eve outfits I bought this black lace skirt-– on sale and under $100. I currently do not have NYE plans (still working on it) but one must always be prepared for any type of occasion. Next I bought a cute holiday romcom book The Christmas Countdown by Holly Cassidy. I am excited to start reading it!

This weekend my parents will be in town! We will be doing all the cute, fun holiday stuff here in the city like looking at window displays and seeing the Rockefeller Christmas Tree. We have tickets to the Rockettes and have some exciting dinner reservations at icon NYC restaurants. I am excited to see my parents and spend some time with them, and to also have a festive weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
