Happy Friday! Oh there’s no place like home for the holidays. I am currently in Ohio for a few days to celebrate Christmas with my family.

While I may be at home relaxing, I am still very much immersed in all things holiday. Last weekend my cousin’s wife and her friend were in the city to look at all of the fabulous holiday decor. I met up with them at the Bryant Park Holiday Shops to roam around for a while. We didn’t end up buying anything, but I always love seeing what the shops have to offer and to discover new small businesses.

That night I went out with a few friends for dinner and drinks. We wanted a festive evening and luckily got reservations at Feste at the Standard East Village hotel. Feste is a pop-up restaurant that will close in February. They had gluten free pasta which was amazing! I ended up having linguine with clams. It was delicious! The evening was fun and I am happy to have been out and about in the city.

This past week I tried a new-to-me workout. Whitfit is a cute boutique fitness studio in the Lower East Side. They offer anywhere from pilates, yoga, and sculpt- both regular and heated. As well as kettlebell HIIT classes. I took the hot sculpt class with a special guest instructor, NYC Ballet Principle Dancer Jovani Furlan. We did typical sculpt movements while incorporating balletic positions such as arabesque, passé, etc. It was a great class- both challenging and fun!

Wednesday evening I went uptown to my friend’s townhouse for a fun holiday party. She went above and beyond for this party; no detail was spared. From a talented pianist to a tarot card reader, the evening was very entertaining. I sipped champagne and had caviar, I can’t complain. The tarot card reader pulled cards for both my love life and career. While she was pretty accurate on my career path, my love life was something I wasn’t expecting. Without getting into too much detail, she was saying how I am getting over a current breakup (or end of something, which is true) and it’s blocking the person I am meant to be with. Both there were things that were so far off from who I am, but you never know! While I love tarot card reading, psychics, etc, I always take things with a grain of salt. I have had readings that have come true and readings that never end up happening. Anyway, the party was so much fun! It was the perfect way to celebrate the holiday with friends and new friends.

What I am watching: Hallmark Christmas movies! ‘Tis the season for the most magical, wholesome movies. I watch Hallmark movies year round, but of course nothing compares to the holiday ones. The new releases that I really like are: Three Wiser Men and a Boy, The Chiefs Love Story. Holiday Crashers, and Santa Tell Me.

What I bought: On a whim I ended up buying these leopard print calf hair leather gloves– currently on sale and under $100. I didn’t need new gloves but I thought these were chic and timeless.

This weekend will be filled with holiday cheer and family. We are going to see BalletMet’s The Nutcracker, which is always a lovely time. We are also (hopefully) seeing Wicked— finally going to see it! I waited until I was with my family, I can’t wait!! Other than that we will be preparing for Christmas, watching football, and enjoying the time spent together. I will be taking next week off from the blog to enjoy time with my family and friends.
