“Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your life because you become what you believe”

-Oprah Winfrey

Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday celebrating with your family and friends. I am still in Ohio with my family for a few more days and I am enjoying every moment.

We started the holiday celebration with our annual trip to the Ohio Theatre to see BalletMet’s The Nutcracker. I went with my mom, sister, and niece to see the beloved Christmas performance. It was a lovely time and I went home with a cute little pink Nutcracker ornament.

The next day my mom and I went to (finally!) see Wicked. I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! It holds up to the hype! I have seen Wicked twice on broadway, and was so curious how they were going to visually adapt it onscreen. It is so beautifully well done. Everything was perfect; the acting, singing, costumes, the scenery, all of it. As far as I can tell, if memory serves me right, it pretty much follows the broadway show. I can’t wait until part 2 comes out!

Unfortunately after I got home from Wicked I started to not feel well. I spent the next few days with the stomach flu. The first day was when I was feeling my worse; even after a 7 hour nap. When I can’t stomach matcha and do not have the energy to read you know I am very ill. Anyway, on Christmas Eve day I was still feeling sick so I spent the evening alone watching Harry Potter. I was so sad to miss out on Christmas Eve with my family; all of our traditions, church service, and our neighbors annual party. Luckily I was feeling better on Christmas day.

I still felt a little weak and queasy on Christmas but was able to muster through brunch and presents. No amount of stomach flu can keep me away from whatever Santa brought for me under the tree. Speaking of gifts, out of all the things I got from family and Santa, my absolute favorite gift was given to me by my parents. They got me (and my sister) ornaments with photos of my grandparents. The second I saw the ornaments I started to cry, I miss them so much. It was the best gift. In return I gave my dad the stomach flu…. oops!

After a little Christmas day afternoon nap I was feeling much better for dinner. I was actually able to eat! Dinner was lots of fun! We laughed, we sang songs, and we played games. I feel very grateful to have felt better for all of it. We ended the evening, my dad, mom, and I with our traditional watch of White Christmas. My favorite holiday movie.

Since my dad is now sick, we have been laying low and resting. I am in my lazy era this week. To get out of the house my mom and I went to the Book Loft in German Village. While I was born and raised in Columbus, I shamefully have never been to the Book Loft. It was so worth the wait! The layout is a never ending maze of book shelves. One could definitely get gleefully lost. Since it was the day after Christmas it was so jammed packed it was hard to navigate around. I will have to go back when I can aimlessly stroll.

What I am watching: We are mostly watching Hallmark movies. I just watched the Hanukkah one, Round and Round, where the girl is in a time loop. It was one of the best new ones of the season- filled with fun and magic!

We also have been watching football…. lots of football…. too much football. As an Ohio State fan I am into all of the CFP games, but the regular bowl games, and NFL games, I use that time to read. I did, however, thoroughly enjoy Beyoncé Bowl!! The entire performance was incredible!

What I bought: I got a little leggings happy and ended up buying this midi-high waist in birch heather and these high-waist leggings in coffee bean. I want to wear them leisurely throughout the winter season.
