friday's simply smitten

“You radiate what rests in you”

-Kavya Dixit

Happy Friday! I first want to say that my heart and prayers go out to the family and friends of the lives lost in the plane crash this past week. It’s an unimaginable tragedy. May this be a reminder to be kinder to each other, cherish every second you have, and tell people you love them.

My week was pretty quiet. I spent it mostly working or reading. I am usually a hermit during the winter season; having no desire to get out and socialize as much. But I do know getting out of the apartment is healthy for my body. mind, and soul.

Last weekend I took a little walk around the West Village to check out what was new in stores and around the area. It’s my favorite area of Manhattan to walk around in. Always so picturesque. One of my favorite shops to pop into is The Seven. It always has chic, unique items. They had Claudia Schiffer’s coffee table book (from 2022) Captivate that I looked through. The book is a collection of some of the best fashion photography of the 90s.

I didn’t go to DanceBody, instead I did it at home. We learned another new dance, this time the pop-diva one. Well, that is what I usually like to call this particular style of dance. It’s always to a pop singer like Britney or Beyonce. This one is “Work” by Ciara ft. Missy Elliott. It’s a fun, but hard one! Really I think this quarter dances have been the most challenging and I am definitely loving it!

What I am watching: The Bachelor is back! I have said this on a few of my social channels– it seems weird that there has been little to no marketing or promos for Grant. Some people have said they have seen a good amount, but the majority of those that commented said the same thing. Usually they shove an upcoming season down our throats; teasing that it’s the “most dramatic season yet.” However, it felt like there was little effort put into promoting the season. I almost forgot about it, except that it popped into my head last week and had to look up the premiere date. Anyway, the first episode is always my least favorite. I get second-hand embarrassment from limo entrances and I do not get attached to any of the contestants. I usually start to weed out the ones I like and dislike in the 3rd episode. I can already tell who is going to get the villian edit and who is not going to go far. I was surprise he gave the first impression rose to Alexe. Honestly, that rose could have gone to any of the women. I felt like he had chemistry with a lot of them. I like Grant, I’ll always root for a happy ending, however, I am not sure he is ready to get engaged. Hopefully I am wrong.

Last weekend I watched the new Netflix movie Back in Action with Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx. It’s really good! Highly entertaining and has a lot of humorous moments. I LOVED seeing Cameron Diaz back on the screen, and it’s Jamie Foxx– you can’t go wrong with him in any movie. Highly recommend!

What I bought: I didn’t buy anything new except new bed sheets. My current ones are starting to see better days. I do have my eye on this matching loungeset– top and bottom.

This weekend I am meeting up with some friends for brunch. Other than that I will probably spend the rest of it indoors as it’s supposed to rain all weekend. I am hoping to finish my current book and start a new one. Oh, and of course, watch The Grammys!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
