Happy Friday! I am finally out of my little funk and in a much better head space. All thanks to the SNL anniversary special. Laughter truly is the best medicine.
This past week wasn’t as busy as last, but, as mentioned, I felt lighter and more focused. Sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down. I went back to DanceBody for my regular Tuesday class and felt great. I was ready to dance, felt confident in the dances….well most of them. For the life of me I can not seem to grasp the “Uproar” dance. It’s mental at this point. Anyway, I had a great, fun class.
I decided to take a little work break and went shopping down in NoHo. I first stopped by Sézane to look at and try on some of their new spring collection items. This yellow floral knitted dress would be perfect for vacation and summer. I also have my eye on this cute daisy embroidered raffia bag and these woven sea green slingbacks. A few fun little facts I learned: I am pronouncing Sézane correctly (clap for me!), and it’s a made up word. It’s a combination of the founder’s first and last name, Morgane Sézalory. The more you know. Anyway, I also stopped by Clare V (still want this sky blue Oui hat), Abbode, and a few other shops along Elizabeth St. I didn’t buy anything because I am still doing my no-buy February, but I now have a running list of items to purchase next month.
Last night I went to Medik8 launch party for their new peptide advance serum. Medik8 is a new-to-me skincare brand, so I was excited to not only get to know the brand, but to also test their products. Their new peptide serum is clinically proven to diminish the appearance of expression lines in 10 minutes and deep-set wrinkles in 8 weeks. They also gifted us this retinol night serum, advanced night cream, and more. I used the retinol serum and night cream for the first time last night I liked it. I have combination, sensitive skin and it didn’t irritate me or cause dry or oily skin. At the event they had someone there to personalized a gua sha for you. I got to catch up with a few friends and sip wine. It was a nice event, and nice to get out and mingle!
What I am watching: As mentioned I watched the SNL 50th Anniversary special, as well as The Homecoming Concert. I thoroughly enjoyed both! I’ve never wished I was at an event(s) more in my life. What fun it would’ve been to have been there! I loved Post Malone singing with Nirvana– that was amazing! I screamed really loud when Cher came out in her famous mesh leotard to sing “If I Could Turn Back Time”. I liked Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard’s rendition of Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares To You”. And laughed hysterically at Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer’s famous church couple melody mix skit. All the musical acts were good… well except Jelly Roll. Sorry he sounded horrendous.
The SNL sketch comedy special was just as good. Steve Martin was the perfect person to do the opening monologue. I just love him! It was wonderful to revisit and remember old sketches. Mike Myers reprising Linda Richman for Coffee Talk/ Bronx Beat was all I needed. Eddie Murphy’s impression of Tracy Morgan was so funny! And I loved the continuation of Domingo. So many great skits to talk about! Overall it was an amazing reunion special.
The White Lotus is back for season 3. Don’t throw rocks at me… I like the new theme song…. It’s certainly no loool loool loool, but I still gave it a little dance. Anyway, I am swooning over Thailand right now. That resort (actually they shot at 4 different resorts) looks so serene and beautiful. I want to go there! The characters are all great and ridiculous as always. It’s going to be a great season.
What I bought: As mentioned I am doing a no-buy February so nothing exciting to report here. I did get new Spectrum equipment so that’s at least something.

I currently do not have any plans for the weekend. I am up for both staying in or grabbing a drink somewhere. It depends on the weather. I do want to try to either go to Bergdorfs to see the new Chairish collection or go see the new exhibition at The Museum at FIT– Fashioning Wonder: A Cabinet of Curiosities. Other then that I will hopefully finish my book, enjoy a pilates and yoga class, and relax this weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
