Happy Friday! This time tomorrow I will be in in sunny Florida; swimming, reading, lounging. I am excited to escape the cold and enjoy the sunshine for a few days.

This week was mostly based around preparing for my vacation. I finally got my roots touched up; back to being blonde! My roots were grossly grown out. Having them touched up brings a spring back to my step. I go to Treehouse Social Club and Kara is my colorist. I’ve been with her for a couple years now and she is great!

Speaking of disasters, I got my nails done as well. I haven’t had my nails done in a few months and they were a wreck. I have brittle nails– no matter what I do to strengthen them, they always break. Sometimes my nails go through periods when they are strong, but lately for some reason I can’t seem to get them to grow. So I went to get my nails done to clean them up and get gel polish. I know gel isn’t the best for your nails, but I need to re-break the habit of messing with them myself. I think what I need to do is go in once or twice a month just to get them taken care of; cutting cubicles, clear nail polish, strengthener etc. Anyway, I went to Glosslab and got a sheer light pink color. Also to prep for my vacation I went to Barnes and Nobles for a book to read while lounging by the pool. I left with 3 books….. oops. Although I will only take one, maybe two with me to Florida, I am excited to dive into each.

I recently joined a members only social club called Parlor. They curate social events from happy hour gatherings to art exhibits to sports outings to networking opporrtunities to wellness sessions and more. You can just go on the app and RSVP to whichever event speaks to your likings, whether it’s hosted by Parlor or an event happening around the city. Wednesday evening I went to my first Parlor event at Somewhere Nowhere rooftop lounge in Chelsea. It was jazz night; they had the Gotham Jazz band as they do every week. The evening was a lot of fun! I’ve been wanting to go to a jazz club here in New York, so this was the first event that intrigued me. I really enjoyed listening to the band, watching people dance, and getting to know the other members of Parlor. I look forward to many more outings and social connections.

What I am watching: I finally watched the new Bridget Jones movie Mad About a Boy. I LOVED it! It held the essence of Bridget Jones; all the character’s quirkiness. I was a little worried how I would feel without Darcy (not a spoiler it’s part of the trailer), but I think it’s a sweet story. Definitely watch it!

I started Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show With Love, Meghan. I am not a big Meghan Markle fan, I don’t dislike her either. I don’t think she is this monster of a person people make her out to be. However, I do think she didn’t help herself when she was in England; trying to modernize an thousand year old monarchy, no matter how silly the tradition or protocol may be, it’s not your place. I also found her and Prince Harry to be a little annoying with their we want privacy yet here is our 100th interview about how the Royal family and British media treated us. Anyway, I watched it because I am a fan of baking and crafts. I love any and all Martha Stewart type shows. I am so far really enjoying the series. I know people are ripping it apart- most of the criticism I find to be utterly ridiculous. It’s the perfect slow Sunday morning still in your pajamas sipping matcha type of show. I need to try her honey lemon cake!

I am in the middle of season 2 of Night Agent. I am enjoying this season so far, but I do think there are too many cooks in the kitchen. I know it will all tie together, but right now there are so many “bad guys” in play it’s a little confusing. Noor’s storyline is perhaps my favorite. Rooting for her!

What I bought: To wear during vacation and throughout the spring and summer I bought this yellow floral smocked dress. I also bought this white embroidered matching set- top and skirt– to wear casually on vacation.

Have I mentioned I will be in Florida this weekend? Haha! I am so ready for vacation! Since I will be gone, I am taking a break from the blog all next week. I will post on my IG stories, a little on LTK, and perhaps on my IG feed, but my blog will be quiet.
