Happy Friday! April showers have certainly arrived, but at least I am seeing cherry blossom trees finally blooming. In fact flowers are starting to bloom all over the city, it’s wonderful to see!
Last weekend I was all about the R&R. The weather was absolutely gorgeous so I had to get outside, leisurely stroll through town. I wanted to (finally) try L’Appartement 4F in West Village, but silly me didn’t factor in the nice weather. Everyone, I mean everyone, was out and about. The line was so long, and well, I do not have the patience for lines. I am not that type of New Yorker. I waited for a little less than 10 minutes before I gave up and went to Rosecrans. Luckily I was able to get a seat so I could enjoy my matcha and gluten free lemon cake. It’s the little things in life.
DanceBody has introduced new dances for Q2! I went to my usual Tuesday morning full-out class that was jammed packed! I originally was on the waitlist, and that has never happened to me before. Happy for the DB ladies, annoyed for myself ha! Anyway, the dances so far are fun! We start off only learning maybe 6 or 7 dances, then gradually they will add on more (2-3) in the coming weeks. My favorite dances thus far are “Slave” by Tyga, and “Roc Steady” by Megan Thee Stallion.
What I am watching: Last weekend I finally watched A Complete Unknown starring Timothée Chalamet– about Bob Dylan. I would consider myself a Dylan fan. I like his music, but really do not know much about his personal life. While I enjoyed the movie and thought it was great, I wanted more in-depth into the why. It felt a little surface level; like why does he write cultural and political songs besides being a Woody Guthrie fan. We do not see him being affected by current political culture besides watching the news. We also never fully understand why he decided to switch to electric guitar. Overall it’s an enjoyable watch, but if you want a deeper understanding of Bob Dylan I do not think you get one here. Also, justice for Edie Sedgwick and The Factory which played an influential role in his new sound (“Like a Rollin’ Stone” and “Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat” are about Edie)… not sure why they cut that out.
For months now everyone has been raving about the new show on Hulu called Paradise, starring Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden. I started watching it this week and everyone was right- it’s a great show! I am already a few episodes in and I find it to be really intriguing. Also, I will watch anything that has James Marsden in it!
What I bought: I got a few items from Alo Yoga to either workout in or wear as athleisure. I got these high-waist leggings that are perfect for my workouts. This half-zip pullover and bootcut leggings for a more street style look. Besides activewear, I picked out a new Book of the Month: The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits by Jennifer Weiner. I also bought, and started reading, Deep End by Ali Hazelwood. Enjoying it so far!

This weekend I am going out to dinner and drinks with friends. It will be nice to be out on the town– it’s been a while! Also looking forward to catching up with my friends. Besides dinner, I will be running some errands that I have been putting off, reading my book, Pilates, cleaning my apartment, and more. Oh, and of course, watch the season finale of The White Lotus!! If Chelsea or Belinda dies I will riot!
